PRESS RELEASE
CONTACT: Carriacou Silver Diving Ltd. – Mr. Max Nagel, Vice President Carriacou Grenada Scuba Diving Association
Hillsborough & Tyrell Bay / Carriacou, 10th of September 2007
The 10th of September 2007 became for Carriacou, the biggest island in the Grenadines island-chain, another historical date. After sinking on the 4th of September 2007 the first wreck as an artificial reef by the name of 'Westsider" - now a second one by the name of "Boris" was sunk with permission of the Grenada Ports Authority in the waters around Carriacou.
Leader of the project was the Grenada Scuba Diving Association in conjunction with the patronage of Jerry Stewart /Tyrell Bay Yacht Haul-Out, Carriacou, who also generously donated this tugboat.
For Grenada´s sister island, Carriacou, this successful project adds another new exciting feature to the already diverse range of activities and places to see – and certainly attracting more tourists to visit.

The name Carriacou derives from the first amerindian settlers and means, “The Island surrounded by Reefs “ and the bio-diversity of the marine life people can explore visiting the local divesites is indeed stunning, but now being completed by adding the adventure and thrill of more wreck-diving to the underwater-activities.
The “Boris” being similar in build to the “Westsider”, also was sunk in its proximity.
It will be of great interest for divers to discover what differences in marine growth and habitat are going to evolve between the two wrecks which can be visited either separately or in one dive.
Divers, look out when viewing divesite-descriptions for the site named “Twin Tugs” !!
